Rangers: Barry Ferguson reacts as Michael Beale sack speculation emerges on live radio
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has weighed in on the speculation that Michael Beale could be sacked, noting that the manager’s future will be decided by player recruitment.
Ferguson, who made almost 300 appearances for the Gers across two spells, believes there is always pressure given the
Rangers are nine points behind leaders Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and lost to their rivals in the League Cup final last month, leaving the Scottish Cup as their best chance of winning silverware this season.

“Of course he would feel a bit of pressure but I don’t think it would involve him losing his job,” Ferguson told Go Radio, as transcribed by the Scottish Daily Express.
“He knows how important it is to try and retain that Scottish Cup outwith the semi-final. They’ve got two big league games [against Celtic] and played really well in the last one. Celtic found a way to get an equaliser, as they do.
“There’s always pressure and Beale knows that. The pressure is in the summer for me – recruitment wise – and making sure that he keeps the ones he wants and that are good enough to go on the journey with him.
“But also to bring in players who can go and try and get Rangers trophies.”

Rangers not giving up on league title
Rangers may consider themselves unlucky to be sitting second in the table, having lost just two of their 28 Scottish Premiership matches this season. The Gers have won 22 and drawn four of their games.
City rivals Celtic, however, boast a nine point gap amid their fine campaign under Ange Postecoglou, with the Bhoys losing just once so far. They have won 26 of their 28 matches, drawing the other.
But Beale’s men will be desperate to close that gap as soon as possible, and they have the opportunity to do just that when the two rivals go head to head early next month. They then meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park later in the month.
Celtic are in the driving seat for another league title, scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest this season, but one last push from Rangers could provide an exciting finish to the campaign.
In other Rangers news, former boss Steven Gerrard could be offered the England Under-21 manager role with Lee Carsley set to consider his future this summer.
