Ryan Kent '100 per cent' heading for Rangers exit - pundit
Tam McManus has suggested Ryan Kent is “100 per cent” heading for the exit door at Rangers with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Speaking in his press conference on Friday (10 March), Michael Beale revealed that conversations over a new deal will take place during the upcoming international break.
Despite talks being pencilled in, McManus feels the 26-year-old is destined to be playing his football elsewhere come the start of the 2023/24 season.
“There’s no way he’s signing for Rangers, he’s 100 per cent gone. There’s no way he’s going to sign now,” said McManus (PLZ Football Show, 46m 56s, 15 March).
“Unless he goes out as a free agent has a look around and doesn’t fancy it. Connor Goldson was another one who everyone thought was going to leave and then he signed a new deal at Rangers.
“I think it’s ideal for Michael Beale to have all these players out of contract.”

Time is ticking
The clock is now ticking. At present, it seems unlikely the winger will sign a new deal at Ibrox. There’s been ample time for the former Liverpool youngster to commit his future to the club. His agent is clearly working hard to get him the best offer and until he knows exactly what’s on the table, a new contract won’t be signed.
If he does depart, it will be interesting to see where Kent ends up. There are certainly questions about whether he is capable of playing in the Premier League. If he did move to England’s top flight, there’s a chance he wouldn’t be a regular starter.
He’s at an age where he will want to be playing week-in and week-out and he will be a mainstay of Beale’s side if he did commit his future to the Gers.
Goldson’s scenario in the summer of 2022 could give the board hope. The defender looked destined to depart before committing his future to the club. Nevertheless, this saga promises to drag on and on.
