Alfredo Morelos should go into Rangers hall of fame as ‘natural conclusion’ should see exit this summer – Mark McDougall
Alfredo Morelos could get a place in the Rangers hall of fame if he ends up leaving the club on a free transfer this summer, according to Mark McDougall.
The Colombian striker looks set to leave the club at the end of his contract after losing his starting place to Antonio Colak, with manager Michael Beale admitting he needs to see more from him if he wants to get his place back.
There have been reports that the 26-year-old has agreed a pre-contract agreement with La Liga club Sevilla, although those aren’t confirmed, but McDougall believes the on-pitch relationship between the player and club has reached a “natural conclusion” but he could be honoured in the future after his career at Ibrox.

Writing for the Daily Record (13 March), McDougall said;
“For Morelos though, it feels like the relationship has reached a natural conclusion on the pitch but he should go with everyone’s best wishes – and perhaps a future place in the Hall of Fame alongside Allan McGregor.”
Hmm
There’s no doubting that during his time at Ibrox, Morelos has been absolutely phenomenal for the most part and he is among the most popular players at the club in recent memory.
His goal record is exceptional, with 122 goals in 261 appearances, including the most goals in European football of anyone in the club’s history.

The ending of his time at the club does seem to be near, but the way it has ended shouldn’t affect his legacy among fans or those who love this football club.
He’s never spoken badly about Rangers and for the most part has always given his all, even when linked with big money moves away. This season hasn’t been good enough by his own standards, but the whole squad has struggled and that is also partly to do with his own standards being so high usually.
Ultimately the Hall of Fame is a place that is for the absolute best of the best, and while we don’t think that Morelos quite fits into that standard, he wouldn’t be the worst inclusion if he did one day get inducted.
