One change as Ridvan Yilmaz returns to squad – Rangers confirmed XI v Raith Rovers

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for their Scottish Cup Quarter Final clash against Raith Rovers at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Beale has included Ridvan Yilmaz on the bench for his first matchday appearance since October after his long injury layoff.

The Turkish full-back has also been joined on the substitutes bench by Ryan Jack, who has been replaced by John Lundstram in the only change from the 4-1 win over Hibernian.

Rangers confirmed the team news via their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off on 12 March.

Job done

After Celtic cruised through a tough-looking quarter-final against Hearts, all eyes are now on the Gers to get the job done against the struggling Championship side.

The Scottish Cup is now of added importance after the recent League Cup heartache against Ange Postecoglou’s men. Retaining the trophy and preventing a Celtic treble would be a small consolation from what has been a largely disappointing campaign.

The recent cup final defeat displayed the immense gulf between the two sides – and the emphasis is now on Beale to find a new way of bridging the gap.

Rangers’ managers are measured on trophies. Regardless of when he took the job, ending the season empty-handed would be a failure. His side have been faultless away from Old Firm fixtures and more of the same is required on Sunday afternoon (12 March).
