Rangers take inspiration from Chelsea as Auchenhowie development on the cards
Rangers have reportedly taken inspiration from Chelsea as they plan their recent Auchenhowie development with it being unveiled on 11 March.
According to Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack [11 March], the reason for the launch of “Rangers READY” is to deal with the final steps players must take in their development with it also giving the club a presence in areas they did not have previously.
Zeb Jacobs, the Head of Academy Coaching, has seen his work in Belgium inspire the club to go in this direction and from Harry Watling’s time at Chelsea as well as research that has been conducted in Germany.
Good move
For all the criticism the board receives for their shoddy work behind the scenes, this is one thing that’s impressive and could be an example for other clubs to follow.
They will open new academies in different places in Scotland and that will see them get their message out to a lot more people.
The fact that they will play without Rangers badges is good as there’ll be less pressure on the kids to live up to a standard and they can focus on enjoying their football.

They also will not be released as it sends a wrong message at that age and it remains to be seen whether that is the correct approach.
Academies need to adapt and keep looking for innovative ways to get to the next level and it’s good to see them being inspired by Chelsea.
The Blues have one of the best academy systems at Cobham and a lot of European clubs are envious of the talent that they’ve produced over the years.
In other Rangers news, a pundit with insider information at Ibrox has shared one condition that will make Douglas Park leave the club.
