Rangers transfer news as Alfredo Morelos to seal exit to join Sevilla

Alfredo Morelos is set to agree on a pre-contract with La Liga outfit Sevilla and seal his Rangers exit for when his contract ends this summer, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.

The report claims Sevilla’s Director of Football Monchi is preparing for an economic “war” where clubs will take advantage of talents with little to no cost.

Whether or not you can fully trust the accuracy of this report is up for debate, nevertheless, Morelos looks ever closer to edging away from Ibrox this summer.

Rangers

“Among the options that the sports management would be considering is an opportunity at zero cost, which has already been mentioned in previous transfer windows,” as quoted by Vamos Mi Sevilla. (10 March)

“This is the Colombian Alfredo Morelos from Glasgow Rangers, who ends his contract with the Scottish team this summer and would have already committed to the Nervión entity.

“At 26, he currently has a market value of 10 million euros and has scored 10 goals this season and provided 6 assists in 36 games played.

“As happened with Federico Gattoni, Monchi would be anticipating other clubs, to take advantage of those players with low cost, given the war economy that awaits the club next summer.”

Signing off?

With his Ibrox contract coming to an end this summer, it’s hardly surprising to see Morelos being linked with a pre-contract agreement to join another club.

Antonio Colak now seems to be the favoured man to lead the Rangers line under Michael Beale, something that has been demonstrated with his recent starts in the team.

That would leave Morelos surplus to requirements at Ibrox, especially with another forward potentially coming into the squad this summer.

El Bufalo has had a good old run of it with Rangers and will be fondly remembered on the terraces for his goals and antics, not only in Scotland but Europe too.

Losing the forward for free is slightly annoying though and again demonstrates the poor handling of his contract situation from the Ibrox board.

Ryan Kent is another star in the squad who could leave for free this summer alongside Morelos and more needs to be done to prevent this from happening again.

In other Rangers news, a pundit with insider information at Ibrox has shared one condition that will make Douglas Park leave the club.
