‘Exceptional’ Rangers blow pundit away as he shares what Lee Johnson thought to himself at Easter Road
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus was impressed by Rangers’ “exceptional” performance in their 4-1 win over Hibernian on Wednesday night – admitting it could have been a far bigger scoreline.
Antonio Colak scored twice while James Tavernier and Fashion Sakala also found the net after Connor Goldson’s own goal had initially given Hibs an early lead at Easter Road.
However, the Gers went on to dominate after that early blip and McManus was impressed by the displays of Michael Beale’s men across the park.

“Rangers were exceptional – they were very, very good,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“Hibs were very lucky to get away with 4-1, I was thinking with 30 minutes to go that it could’ve been seven or eight. If Rangers took their chances, it could have been.
“Rangers were excellent. They did it against Hearts last month when they really turned it on and I think it suited them that Hibs came into the game with confidence.
“I think Lee Johnson fancied it, he thought, ‘we could have a go at them here’. Bar the first five minutes, it didn’t quite work out that way and Rangers had loads of space to run into, they were quick in the wide areas and Sakala and Kent tore Hibs apart.
“A few Hibs supporters came out of that game thinking, ‘thank god it was only 4-1’.
“For Rangers, they showed signs with Raskin and Cantwell in the middle of the pitch that they could become a very good team under Michael Beale.”

In other Rangers news, more issues could emerge in the Ibrox boardroom over a cash injection.
