Four Lads shares Rangers news on transfer sums and record investments from the board

Four Lads Had A Dream have shared that the Rangers board cleared two legacy transfer sums last summer alongside making record investments.

The report highlights that the Rangers board have spent upwards of £40m in recent years according to accounts, confessing that arguments saying they haven’t spent money aren’t entirely true.

Nevertheless, the official Rangers partner admitted that whether the board had spent the money wisely is another argument altogether, with investment in wages at an all-time high.

“Investment levels in wages of the squad is also a record high, just under £55m and upwards of £13m was spent last summer,” as quoted by Four Lads Had A Dream. (7 March)

“They also reportedly spent around £2.5-3m in January there, as well as clearing legacy transfer sums including fees for players like Roofe and Kent for example.

“The accusation they haven’t spent doesn’t quite seem true, with £40m and beyond spent in total in recent years according to the accounts, the arguments they haven’t spent well is another thing entirely.”

The Ibrox boardroom and Rangers fans are currently at a tipping point and it’s hard to see the glowing financial reports changing the current mood in Glasgow.

Issues have piled up to the point where fans’ frustrations have boiled over, something that was demonstrated by the Union Bears with their “eye off the ball” banner.

One of the main reasons behind the discontent is the fact Celtic could come within one trophy of Rangers’ all-time collection should they land the treble this season.

Douglas Park and co may have spent as mentioned above, however, letting top talents like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos potentially leave for nothing this summer has to be scrutinised.

Transfer strategies like this from Ross Wilson simply make no sense alongside signings he has made who haven’t lived up to the hype or what it means to play at Ibrox.

Fans’ discontent and unhappiness tell you all you need to know and more communication must be made from the Ibrox board with the Gers faithful to ease fears and angst.

Ignoring problems until they pile up to an unfathomable level is a recipe for disaster and the sooner the board own up to their mistakes, the more willing fans will be to hear them out.
