Rangers told to get rid of players due to finances by BBC Scotland pundit
BBC pundit Neil McCann believes Michael Beale has got a big summer ahead of him at Rangers and needs to be provided with finances to compete with Celtic.
Speaking on BBC Sportscene on Saturday (4 March), McCann confessed that Rangers must make a decision soon on the futures of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.
The pundit admitted that by doing so, the club will then have finances to source new players in the summer transfer window for next season.

“He’s got a big job ahead of him this summer, listen I do think there have been discussions held but that can only be open so long,” said McCann speaking on Sportscene (4 March, 16m25s),
“You can’t just leave an open door for people to hedge their bets, if they don’t want to be at the club they can move on.
“Connor Goldson ran down the clock and I think eventually people started seeing how good he was for the club and he was rewarded with a contract.
“Morelos and Kent are two Rangers players who are coveted by the fans but they can’t leave it on the table, they’ve got to make a decision sooner or later, because that money can provide finances and source players soon so they can get them ready for the summer.”

Closing the gap.
Closing the gap with Celtic has to be the number one priority for Rangers this summer and the Ibrox board must spring some finances into action.
The Viaplay Cup final defeat was a stark reminder of just how far the Gers have slipped behind their bitter rivals and it was arguably a bit of a wake-up call.
Getting rid of players like Morelos and Kent would ease finances at the club, however, Beale and co would need to line up equally as good replacements.
In the murky transfer world, this is never easy but Celtic have shown in their transfer deals of late that exploring emerging football markets may be the route forward in Scotland.
Signing players from Asia or South America could provide the Gers with cheaper alternatives to players in and around the United Kingdom and Europe.
This is definitely something the Rangers board should consider, whether they actually have a plan in place however is up for debate.
