Rangers attacker Kemar Roofe needs to be sold due to awful injury record

Rangers must look to sell Kemar Roofe in the summer as his injury record only appears to be getting worse every season.

Michael Beale confirmed this week that he will be sent to a specialist to work on his current calf injury and he’s out for an indefinite period of time. [Daily Record]

It’s now been revealed that he’s missed over 5000 minutes of professional action since his move to Ibrox in 2020 – which does not make for very good reading.

In the season he joined, he missed 54 days or nearly two months of the season due to injury with it being a calf concern on two different occasions.

The following campaign was worse for him as he missed 222 days which is nearly the entire season and that’s not the level of fitness one expects from a professional football.

In 22/23, even though we’re a little over halfway done, he’s been out close to 120 days and this is not something that will impress Beale.

His deal runs out in the summer of 2024 which means that the club can get something in the transfer window rather than have him leave on a free transfer.

He may be effective when he’s fit but that is not something that happens too often and it’s best if both parties go their own ways.

Roofe is also 30 right now and isn’t likely to get any fitter in the coming years so it’s time Rangers start offering him around to different clubs, perhaps even to ones in the EFL Championship.

In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
