Alfredo Morelos axed, Michael Beale makes four changes – Rangers confirm starting XI for clash v Kilmarnock

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock on Saturday 4 March with four changes made from last weekend’s Viaplay Cup final defeat.

The Gers left Hampden Park empty-handed after a 2-1 defeat to Ange Postecoglou’s side in a somewhat underwhelming performance against their Old Firm rivals in which Michael Beale was criticised for his selections.

As confirmed on Twitter [4 March] prior to kick-off, Beale has rang that changes with Antonio Colak coming in for the axed Alfredo Morelos. The midfield has changed too with Ryan Jack, Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell all coming in.

Redemption

Kilmarnock provides the Gers with a chance of some sort of redemption after last weekend’s disappointing and damaging defeat to their Old firm rivals.

The result will have certainly shown Beale the gulf in class between the two sides, and the Light Blues still have some way to go in properly challenging Ange Postecoglu’s rampant and unstoppable team.

Rangers

The defeat was Beale’s first as Gers boss, but definitely, the most bitter he’s had to taste and he will be looking to put that right this afternoon as Rangers have a chance to cut the gap between themselves and Celtic to just six points, for a short while at least.

Kilmarnock sit second from bottom in the Scottish Premiership table, and the Gers will be expected to finish the afternoon with three points, but they simply cannot afford any sort of complacency if they are to keep the pressure on their fierce rivals.

In other Rangers news, Beale shares an official club update on current stars’ contract situations.
