He said: “Tom Lawrence has had another operation and won’t be available until the back end of pre-season.
“With Lawrence he was back our training in isolation, had some real discomfort when he was running. They had a look and they had to do a procedure so he won’t be back until the back end of pre-season.”
Huge blow
The 29-year-old midfielder was swiftly becoming a key player under former manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst before his injury in August going on to register 3 goals and an assist in all competitions.
Beale has come in since then and found the right formula for his attack with the likes of Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala becoming household names under his stewardship.

Lawrence could have also become a key figure under Beale and would have brought alternative quality to a team that needs it.
However, the news that the player will be out of action until the end of pre-season this summer comes as a huge blow to both the player and the club, as it all means he could well miss the start of next season too.
Let’s hope for a speedy and swift recovery for Lawrence.
