Michael Beale sends Rangers dig to Douglas Park over what Celtic have done
Michael Beale has appeared to take an indirect dig at the Rangers board and Douglas Park claiming that any team in the world that spends the most will be top of the league.
The Scottish Sun tweeted the Beale quotes out on 3 March as the Rangers head coach looks to topple Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Is this Beale’s way of trying to get some funds from the Gers hierarchy in the summer months? Let’s hope his passive-aggressive tactics pay off.
“In general, if you look at any league in the world, the team that spends the most is first,” said Beale as quoted by the Scottish Sun. (3 March)
There is no denying that the summer transfer window is absolutely massive for Rangers and if they stand any chance of competing with Celtic then money needs to be spent.

Vast gap.
There is a vast gap between Rangers and Celtic at this moment in time, something that was demonstrated during the ViaPlay Cup final defeat on 26 February.
Celtic have explored emerging football markets and reinvested in their squad far too efficiently, a lesson that Rangers must learn to do moving forward.
It’s evident that Beale is the right man to lead this Rangers team forward but it’s also essential that he is backed by Park and the Rangers board to do so.
A lot of the current Rangers squad are past their sell-by date and it’s about time a proper rebuild took place to give the Gers a chance of competing with Ange Postecoglou’s machine.
Two more midfielders are needed alongside a young and fresh goalkeeper and even a new striker if Alfredo Morelos chooses to depart Ibrox when his contract ends.
With luck, Beale will be backed to sign the players he wants in this squad, instead of inheriting the mistakes of the past at Ibrox from previous gaffers at the helm.
In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
