Rangers transfer news as Michael Beale dodges truth behind Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos talks

PLZ Soccer pundit Alan Rough believes Michael Beale dodged the truth behind contract talks with Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos in his latest Rangers press conference.

Rough confessed that Beale must make his mind up on the duo sooner or later because players will need to come into the club to take their place if needed.

Both Kent and Morelos are out of contract at Rangers this summer and it’s still not clear whether either talent will sign a new deal at Ibrox.

“He’s dodged it a bit there with Morelos and Kent he sort of hinted that they are still negotiating with them I don’t know if that’s the case,” said Rough on the PLZ Soccer YouTube channel. (2 March)

“He’s got to make his mind up because that other piece of the paper will need people to come in and take their place.”

Pivotal months.

The next few months will be pivotal for both Kent and Morelos in whether or not they extend their stays at Rangers, something that will likely become clearer soon.

Both have enjoyed an upturn in form since the arrival of Beale with Kent in particular enjoying a close relationship with the Rangers’ head coach.

Kent has enjoyed his free-roaming role within this Rangers set-up far more than his restricted left-wing position under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Both Kent and Morelos will know, however, that the grass isn’t always greener when you leave Ibrox and both may be preferring a stay should Beale want to keep them.

Nevertheless, after the Viaplay Cup final loss to Celtic, it was made abundantly clear that changes will be needed within this Rangers squad during the summer months.

Rangers showed in the January transfer window the calibre of players they can lure to Glasgow in Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell and this may be a warning sign to Kent and Morelos.
