Ross Wilson to blame as Rangers throw £10million in the bin amid Sir Jim Ratcliffe snub
Glen Kamara is a player whose inconsistency frustrates more than any other – and the Rangers midfielder’s weekend display has yet again raised questions.
The Scottish Sun claimed (1 September) that Nice were hoping to land the 27-year-old in a £10million deal, which was funded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is the owner of the Ligue 1 side.
However, the Finland international remained at Ibrox and seemed to be reborn under Michael Beale, with his performance against Hearts one of the best individual displays of the season. The issue for the Light Blues is that these types of performances have been rare occurrences from Kamara.

And, unfortunately, the weekend’s loss to Celtic demonstrated that Rangers aren’t going to push on and close the gap to their Old Firm rivals with players such as Kamara still in the starting eleven.
Too many players remain from a bygone era at Ibrox. Beale is trying to change the playing staff and this summer’s transfer window will be absolutely essential.
Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell will improve the side, but it’s up to the board to recruit perhaps six or seven new recruits in the summer to rectify the chasm which has emerged between themselves and Celtic.

Although Kamara has improved under Beale, the decision to turn down £10million from Nice is looking like one the worst calls in recent history. We all know that money is relatively tight in the Scottish game, and that type of transfer fee could have gone a long way in clearing some of the money the Gers still owe to a number of investors.
£10million has been effectively put in the bin due to Ross Wilson’s reluctance to cash in on a player who has been dreadfully inconsistent of late.
In other Rangers news, the fans must do more to get Douglas Park and Ross Wilson out of the club because enough is enough.
