Rangers welcome Allistair McCaw to Auchenhowie only day after Celtic loss

Rangers welcomed sports psychologist Allistair McCaw to Aucehnhowie on Monday 27 February after the Viaplay Cup final loss to Celtic.

Whether or not the psychologist’s visit was planned or related to the cup final loss are unknown but the Rangers squad could almost definitely do with some lifting up.

McCaw posted pictures from his trip on his personal Twitter, admitting that it’s always nice to spend time with the “fantastic” people at Rangers.

“Always nice to be back Rangers training ground in Milngavie today,” said McCaw on Twitter. (27 February, 2:29 PM)

“Even better to spend time with the fantastic people there.”

Where would you start?

McCaw would have some job on his hands trying to lift the mood of this Rangers squad after how they played on Sunday afternoon against Celtic.

The lacklustre outing was Michael Beale’s first loss as the Light Blues boss and again highlighted the gulf in class that is currently between Rangers and Celtic.

Can the club by any chance book McCaw for a session every week? One just doesn’t seem enough right now after Sunday’s performance.

It might have even been a bright idea to get the sports psychologist in last week before the Cup final, alas, in typical Rangers fashion they were late on this one.

Beale and the Gers will have to dust themselves off quickly from this one and they can ill-afford to let the Cup final define their campaign.

Kilmarnock are up next in the Scottish Premiership and nothing less than a convincing win at Ibrox is needed in that one or questions will be asked.

In other Rangers news, Beale has been backed on Sky Sports over his team selection despite a backlash to leaving out Nicolas Raskin.
