Rangers want to sign Colombian talent Kevin Mantilla as player speaks out about transfer
Rangers are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on Colombian young talent Kevin Mantilla, according to a report from Sunday Mail (page 71, 26 February).
The 19-year-old stopper is seen as one of the best young prospects in South America, having helped his country reach the CONMEBOL Under-20 semi-finals this month.
He plays for Santa Fe, and the defender has admitted that he knows about interest from several European clubs.

The youngster has been linked with clubs from Italy, Portugal, and Greece, while Premier League giants Liverpool are also keen to land him.
“I know which teams are interested in me in Europe and it’s very nice to hear about them. I have been kept informed,” said the youngster, as quoted by Sunday Mail.
Summer window
Irrespective of how the current season pans out, the next summer transfer window will be massive for Rangers.
Michael Beale made a couple of very good signings in January, and he needs more young players to the side to build a core team of his choice.
The Gers boss has made it clear that he will look to trim the bloated squad. As many as 9-10 players are out of contract in the summer, and Beale has big decisions to make.

Do Rangers need any new defenders? Beale will probably believe that he can get the best out of John Souttar who has remained injured for most of the season.
Conor Goldson and Ben Davies are key players while Leon King could become a class player in the future. However, James Sands could leave the club, if his loan deal is not made permanent, while Filip Helander is also facing an uncertain future.
Adding a young talent like Mantilla makes sense, but Rangers expect to face strong competition for him.
In other Rangers news, the club have pulled off a major transfer coup with a deal already signed for a player who was interesting two English giants.
