Chris Sutton fires shots at Michael Beale after Rangers v Celtic

Chris Sutton brings up the fact that Michael Beale is yet to win a trophy as a player or a manager as Rangers lost to Celtic.

The Gers boss had his chance to win his first piece of silverware when the two sides took each other on in the Viaplay Cup final.

However, Celtic were the better team on the day and ended up winning the game 2-1.

Via Twitter, Sutton wrote, “This isn’t a dig but Michael Beale hasn’t won anything yet as a player or a manager…”

Shambolic

Beale deserves a fair share of the blame for this one as he did not set out the team to nullify Celtic and instead it was a very passive eleven.

Fans were fuming once the lineups were out and were baffled to see John Lundstram and Glen Kamara starting amid their recent displays.

It’s clear that the likes of Borna Barisic and Ben Davies were also nowhere good enough but we’re surprised to see this Rangers side failing to turn up for a cup final.

The expectations were to go out and give Celtic a fight and a run for their money, but that clearly did not happen.

Gers were second best at everything and actually the 2-1 scoreline flatters them as it could’ve been a lot worse had a few more things gone against them.

They will need to work on this as they look miles away from Celtic and unless there’s a remarkable drop in form, there’s no chance of them clawing their way back into the title race.

In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
