Graeme Souness drops ‘bragging rights’ verdict ahead of Rangers clash v Celtic
Graeme Souness believes you can’t underestimate how “enormous” the ViaPlay Cup final between Rangers and Celtic this weekend is.
Speaking in his column for the Daily Mail as quoted by the Daily Record Souness highlighted the immense “bragging rights” that will come with a win on Sunday 26 February.
Souness confessed that Celtic’s big lead in the Scottish Premiership will count for nothing come Sunday afternoon and the Cup is anyone’s to win.

“League Cup, Scottish Cup, Premiership, whatever the competition, a football match between those sides is more than a football match. It’s bragging rights, it’s people not turning up for work on a Monday morning if their team have lost, it’s an enormous occasion,” said Souness as quoted by the Daily Record. (25 February)
“Celtic might currently be ahead in the league table but we all know that will count for nothing tomorrow afternoon.”

Massive.
Old Firm clashes are never not massive but something is in the air before this Viaplay Cup final clash that makes fans think they could be in for a treat.
The angst and jibes from Michael Beale aimed towards Ange Postecoglou and Chris Sutton in recent weeks have only added fuel to the fire.
Fashion Sakala even got in on the act this week with his “other mob” comment sending shockwaves through Parkhead, Celtic have been well and truly rattled.
Maybe this is all a clever ploy from Beale to get into the minds of the fierce Celtic side before a ball has even been kicked at Hampden on Sunday afternoon.
Whatever the case may be, it’s made the build-up to this exciting affair extremely enticing and it will make winning on the 26 February just that bit sweeter.
The Ibrox faithful will be praying they can get one over on Celtic tomorrow after a woeful start to the campaign.
A domestic cup double? Why not.
In other Rangers news, a Celtic hero has admitted Beale wasn’t wrong about his assessment of Chris Sutton’s Chelsea career.
