Ally McCoist throws dig at Michael Beale & Ange Postecoglou ahead of Rangers clash v Celtic

Ally McCoist believes the joint press conference held this week between Rangers and Celtic bosses Michael Beale and Ange Postecoglou was a “car crash”.

The bizarre decision by Viaplay sponsors to have the pair appear together and answer questions has left many including McCoist with second-hand embarrassment.

McCoist jokingly confessed that he watched the press conference between the duo from behind the sofa through two fingers.

“That was like watching the biggest car crash I’ve ever seen in my life,” said McCoist live on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra show.

“I watched that interview from behind the couch, through two fingers.”

Rangers

Extremely weird.

The press conference was extremely weird, to say the least, and it’s not often you get to see two managers side by side before a cup final clash.

Both Beale and Postecoglou were on their best behaviour after recent antics have seen tensions spill over at both Ibrox and Parkhead.

Nevertheless, the strange press conference has only elevated the hype behind the cup final clash and every fan from around Scotland will be glued to their screens on Sunday afternoon.

Could joint press conferences become a thing of the future perhaps? If they turned into tasty and fiery affairs like that of boxing then fans should be all for it.

Beale already has one knockout victory to his name over Chris Sutton, hopefully, he’ll add Postecoglou to the mix come Monday morning.

This could very well be Rangers and Beale’s best chance at capturing some silverware this season but they’ll need to be at their very best to overcome this classy Celtic outfit.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has piled the pressure on Beale ahead of the game and claims he hasn’t backed up all his talk since arriving at Ibrox.
