Barry Ferguson slams Fashion Sakala after Sky Sports footage emerges ahead of Celtic clash
Barry Ferguson has hit out at Fashion Sakala after the Rangers forward referred to Celtic as the “other mob” ahead of their ViaPlay final clash on Sunday.
Sky Sports footage emerged on Wednesday (Bryan R Fotheringham’s personal Twitter, 22 February) of Sakala mocking the Gers’ fierce rivals.
Ferguson has since responded and suggested “respect” should be shown regardless of the opponent.

“I always respected, always, that went out the window when you crossed the white line but I think you have got to give respect,” Ferguson told Go Radio (quoted by the Daily Record, 22 February).
“If you are not respectful, nine times out of 10 you are going to get a slap in the face, so it’s interesting to see what Sakala has said.”
Something out of nothing
This whole scenario feels like something being made out of nothing. Sakala probably didn’t mean anything with his comments and it’s highly unlikely Celtic’s motivation would’ve increased after hearing what the Zambian had to say. It’s a talking point and controversy is certainly sought after in the lead-up to big matches.
Sakala himself will likely be starting for the Gers on Sunday. He’s been given a new lease of life under Michael Beale and has enjoyed a good run of form since the former QPR boss returned to the club. Rangers will head to Hampden Park in good spirits and confident that they can cause Celtic problems.

They had the better of the last Old Firm clash and were extremely unlucky not to come away with all three points and close the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Beale will be desperate for some good news on Malik Tillman, with the American currently a major doubt for Sunday’s fixture.
In other Rangers news, Kenny Miller has questioned if the club need to make a marquee signing this summer.
