Speaking to The Scottish Sun [23 February] regarding his client’s immediate future, the former Manchester United player stated that either Rangers or Celtic could be the ideal next destination for Cho.

He said: “It would be perfect for him to improve in the future and he could stay at Celtic or Rangers which would be totally fine, or he could move on to a bigger league.

“Celtic or Rangers would be great for him to be the next step in his career. In the winter there were a few clubs interested but we didn’t make a deal, this summer I am happy to sell him and I think he’ll be ready for his next step.

“First he needs to do well in our league and keep up his level, then prove it himself and I’m sure he can go to Europe in the summer.”

Cho scored 21 goals in 35 total appearances for Jeonbuk in the 2022 South Korean season and also netted twice for South Korea at the World Cup with both goals coming in a 3-2 group stage defeat to Ghana in Qatar.

With key man Alfredo Morelos’ immediate future at Ibrox uncertain, the Gers must make sure they are at the front of the queue for the Cho’s signature this summer.

Rangers

His adviser is certainly right in that the Gers could be the ideal next step for him, which means the Light Blues must ensure they convince him that the Ibrox is a better proposition for him than Parkhead.

Manager Michael Beale will be expected to undergo a full-on assault for the Scottish Premiership title next season and he’ll need a big rebuild this summer to fulfil those ambitions.

Signing Cho should certainly be high on Rangers’ transfer agent list this summer, especially if Morelos departs.
