Michael Beale wants to build Rangers team around Malik Tillman, ‘major coup’ needed
Michael Beale will be looking to rebuild the Rangers squad in the summer and signing Malik Tillman on a permanent deal will be a “major coup” for the club, according to journalist Jordan Campbell.
Writing for The Atheltic, Campbell shares that Tillman will provide Beale with another player to build his team around if the Bears manage to activate his pre-agreed purchase clause in the loan deal.
If Ryan Kent decides to stay put, Beale will have a plethora of options in the attacking midfield areas, and the club should wary of not becoming overstocked in that department.

“Rangers should be wary of not becoming overstocked in attacking midfield, however,” wrote Campbell for The Atheltic.
“Tillman, if Rangers activate his pre-agreed purchase clause in his loan deal and he wants to extend his stay at Ibrox, would be a major coup and provide Beale with another player to build his team around.
“But if Beale convinces Kent to stay, Rangers will be carrying him, Tillman, Cantwell, Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence and Alex Lowry in that area of the pitch.”
Rebuilding job
Tillman, 20, joined the Bears in the summer transfer window from Bayern Munich on loan, and the club have the option to sign him permanently for a fee of around £5m.
Beale previously hinted that the club will look to sign him permanently in the summer, and he could be a bargain addition, given his vast potential.
The youngster has been terrific under Beale, and has found consistency, which is key for his development. He has managed eight goals and four assists in all competitions, and it makes sense for the club to sign him permanently in the summer.

The rebuilding job won’t be easy. At least 10 players, including those who are on loan, are out of contract in the summer, and Beale has already hinted that he will look to trim the bloated squad.
The attacking midfield region will be sorted if Kent agrees a new deal and Tillman joins permanently, but other areas need to be looked at.
The Bears need a first-choice goalkeeper, a left-sided centre-back, a powerful central midfielder, a left-footed attacker, and another striker to complete the rebuilding job in the summer.
In other Rangers news, Kenny Miller has questioned if the club need to make a marquee signing this summer.
