Kemar Roofe joins nine-man list of Rangers players who could be ruled out v Celtic

Rangers will face Celtic in the Viaplay Cup final on Sunday (26 February) and Michael Beale could be missing a host of players for this game.

According to Scottish Daily Mail (back page, 22 February), Beale has urged his players to come clear over any lingering fitness issues.

Kemar Roofe, who recently returned to action after a long injury lay-off, is doubtful for this game, along with Malik Tillman, John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, and Scott Arfield.

With the club already missing the likes of John Souttar, Filip Helander, Ridden Yilmaz, and Robby McCrorie, Beale could be without nine players for this massive game at Hampden Park.

Roofe, who scored against Livingston in the previous game, has a slight issue, and Beale cannot afford to gamble on unfit players.

Depth

This is a massive game for the Gers but Beale will be bothered by the injury problems.

Roofe has recently returned from a long injury lay-off, and Beale will hope that he can shake off his problems and get fit for this massive clash.

The Bears are nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Celtic are looking unbeatable at the moment, so domestic cup trophies could lay out a strong foundation for the club going forward.

Rangers are in terrific form under Beale, and it would be a feisty competition on Sunday.

Even if the Gers miss out on these players, Beale can still come up with a strong line-up against Celtic. However, missing Tillman would be a massive blow for the club.

Tillman has been in sensational form this season under Beale, and his energy and quality will be heavily missed. Todd Cantwell, who joined in the January window, is likely to replace him.

In other Rangers news, Kenny Miller has questioned if the club need to make a marquee signing this summer.
