Rangers team news v Celtic: Three players expected to miss Old Firm Viaplay Cup final
Michael Beale has given the Rangers team news as his side take on Celtic in the Viaplay Cup final which is scheduled to be played on Sunday, 26 February.
John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Malik Tillman are all injured and haven’t returned to training as of Tuesday, 21 February.
Beale admits it’ll be a bonus if any of them are available for the game and it’s likely to have a similar feel to the team that was deployed over the weekend.
Vital Rangers journalist Graeme Hanna quoted Beale as saying, “None of the boys returned to training today (Tillman, Lundstram, Jack). I thought the team you saw at the weekend will be very close to that for Sunday
“If we get one or two back, that would be a bonus but I’m not counting on it right now
Need to win this
Rangers have to win their first Old Firm under Beale as it will give them a psychological boost for the rest of the season.
Apart from that, it will give him his first taste of silverware since taking over at Ibrox and that’ll be a good foundation to build on.
He has proven so far that he’s the right man for the job but nothing is sweeter than silencing your rivals next door in a cup final.

Form has been good going into this game and Beale’s management of his players as well as the tactics on the field are impeccable.
Hopefully, he can continue to put the opposition under pressure and get one over Ange Postecoglou to give the Ibrox support bragging rights for the rest of the season.
In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
