Rangers ace Malik Tillman is a “real concern” to be fit and firing for the ViaPlay Cup final v Celtic on 26 February, according to The Herald’s Chris Jack.

Jack reports that alongside Scott Arfield the Bayern Munich loanee isn’t expected to resume any form of training until the back end of the week.

In a season full of frustrating injury news for Rangers fans, it will come as no surprise to hear that yet again the club are being plagued by niggles and bruises.

“The hamstring tweak that kept Malik Tillman out was a real concern and that trio, alongside Scott Arfield, are not likely to return to training until the back end of the week,” said Jack as quoted by The Herald. (21 February)

“Beale classed the situations as ‘touch and go’ and the manager will have to do a considerable percentage of his preparation work with two blueprints on the table to account for all eventualities.”

Rangers

Critical.

The number 10 role is absolutely critical to the side Beale plays and the Englishman will be praying that Tillman can return for the Cup final clash v Celtic.

Tillman has arguably been Rangers’ brightest talent under Beale since he arrived at Ibrox and he’s the type of game changer that can win you trophies in clutch moments.

The Rangers boss will likely have Todd Cantwell to look towards if Tillman is declared unfit to start so it isn’t all doom and gloom heading into the fierce clash at Hampden.

Beale confessed that he has no qualms in throwing new boys Nicolas Raskin and Cantwell into the firepit against Celtic if needs be for the final.

They will need to be at their very best to overcome the Scottish Premiership league leaders in the middle of the park though and this is where the final could be won or lost.

Fans will almost all agree that they would like to see Raskin given the nod to start in this one, he’s settled into life with ease at Ibrox and this test could be the perfect remedy for him to look even better.

In other Rangers news, Kenny Miller has questioned if the club need to make a marquee signing this summer.
