Chris Sutton takes another swipe at Michael Beale as feud with Rangers boss rumbles on

Chris Sutton has taken another swipe at Rangers boss Michael Beale ahead of the Viaplay Cup final clash with Celtic amid their recent feud.

The pair have gone back and forth with public comments over the last week, attracting a lot of attention from fans and the media world about a dislike towards one another.

And when appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live (21 February), Sutton was asked if he had a message for Beale ahead of Sunday’s cup final and he couldn’t help but take another shot at the Gers boss.

“He might need it,” he said. “He needs to win something. It’s the pressure of Glasgow. He’s had a lot to say, hasn’t he Mick.

“In fairness to him, as a coach he’s had a good start to his managerial career. He’s had a lot to say about a lot of things. He doesn’t like other people speaking, he believes in free speech but only his free speech. It’s a little bit undemocratic.”

Pathetic

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and Beale has said as such many a time, but there’s a difference when your opinion is being given just to take shots at a particular club because of your own affiliations.

Sutton has a connection with Rangers and that’s fine, but he takes every possible opportunity to have a dig at Rangers and all Beale was doing was giving him some of his own medicine.

Rangers

Shockingly (not) Sutton didn’t appreciate it and has continued it with constant rebuttals again, but nobody is really listening.

This feud will be a distant memory on Sunday afternoon when Rangers lift the trophy and Beale gets his hands on the first bit of silverware as a manger.

Hopefully he’ll have something to say to Sutton then too, because there’ll be no comeback for it. But until then, Sutton should keep quiet otherwise he’ll look even stupider when the game at Hampden Park is done.

In other Rangers news, one injured player is set to return to training this week and should be fit to face Celtic if needed.
