Tom English slams Rangers fans on BBC after what they did with banners
BBC Scotland journalist Tom English has slammed Rangers’ fans after they unfurled a banner which he thinks revealed their dismay at Michael Beale’s decision to allow Partick Thistle to score last weekend.
The Jags were allowed to walk the ball into Allan McGregor’s net after Malik Tillman had put the Light Blues ahead in controversial circumstances.
A section of the Light Blues’ support unveiled a banner which appeared to hit out at that and English was less than impressed with the message.

“Michael Beale did the right thing last week and I cannot understand why this has been blown,” said English (BBC Scottish Football Podcast, 27m 15s, 18 February).
“It was a classy thing to do. I thought it was the correct and classy thing to do, there’s no blame on anybody – Tillman or anyone else.
“Banners today on the back of that? Come on.”
Move on
Everybody needs to move on from the Partick Thistle situation. It was dealt with and ultimately the Light Blues got the win that their performance deserved. Everybody wants the same thing, but ensuring it is achieved in the right way is crucial, and had Rangers won due to a dubious goal, questions would’ve been asked.
Issues like this should have been put to bed, and it’s sad to see the majority of the talk still surrounding Tillman’s goal, despite the Gers picking up an impressive win against Livingston.

Rangers head into next weekend’s Old Firm clash in a good position looking to get on over on The Hoops for the first time in the 2022/23 campaign.
This is the first chance for Beale to win something in his short managerial career and the chance to lay down a statement to Ange Postecoglou’s side cannot be missed. It promises to be an extremely tense affair and right now it’s almost impossible to call a winner.
