Rangers official partner calls out journalist on Celtic comparison after James Tavernier Hall of Fame announcement

Heart and Hand gave a tongue in cheek reply to Guardian journalist Ewan Murray for comparing Rangers defender James Tavernier to a Celtic duo.

The club announced that Tavernier was one of three players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and Rangers Review’s Jonny McFarlane stated that he was the best player in Scotland over the last five years.

Murray decided to jump in and make a case for two right-backs Celtic have sold and this led to an argument on social media.

Rangers’ official partners Heart and Hand then responded on Twitter, “People with eyes, probably.”

Baffling

Just because they were sold for profits does not make them any better and that’s the market and the clubs deciding on a price.

Tavernier had constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League and had he taken it, he certainly would’ve gone for a lot of money.

Nathan Patterson decided to make the switch to Everton last January and Gers made £12million from his sale even though he wasn’t any better than Tavernier.

One of the main reasons he left was because the Gers right-back was just too good to drop and regular game time was unlikely to come by for a few years at least.

It’s good to see Heart and Hand as well as McFarlane silencing Murray in the replies and it’s making for some nice reading.

Hopefully, Celtic-crazy trolls like him do their research or at least make some valid points before calling out on of the best Rangers players in recent history.
