Rangers urged to recoup money for ‘nowhere to be seen’ Ridvan Yilmaz – Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller has urged Rangers to send Ridvan Yilmaz out on loan next summer to recoup his wages as he is “nowhere to be seen” at the moment.

The Turkish left-back is currently out injured and he will need more time to return to full fitness.

The Bears out a reported £3.4m rising to £5m [Sky Sports] to sign him from Besiktas, but Miller is convinced that the Gers won’t be getting that money back.

The BBC Radio pundit, while writing his column for the Sunday Mail (19 February, page 64-65), has urged the club not to let that situation dwindle away.

“Yilmaz and Matondo have cost good money and Rangers won’t be getting that back as it stands,” wrote Miller.

“Yilmaz is nowhere to be seen and doesn’t look any closer to the team now than when he signed last summer. Yet you can’t just let that situation dwindle away after spending around £5m on him.

“So maybe a loan that recoups his wages and gets him and Matondo back playing again is the option to start with.”

Wrong

It seems that Miller hasn’t considered the player’s injury situation. It’s unfortunate that the youngster picked up a nasty hamstring injury and as a result, he is out of action for all these months.

Beale shared on 16 December [Football Scotland] that Yilmaz picked a bad hamstring injury and he would be missing another six weeks.

Even if he is fit, the youngster should not be rushed back. It is really unfortunate that things have not worked out well for him.

Yilmaz struggled initially to settle down in Scotland after moving out of Turkey. He barely featured under Giovanni van Bronckhorst who was happy to give chances to Borna Barisic.

Rangers

After impressing in the 3-0 defeat in the Champions League against Napoli, Yilmaz picked up a nasty injury against Aberdeen in late October and hasn’t featured Ince.

The youngster is still on the sidelines, but the club is happy to give him time to recover.

Beale is famed for working with young players and he could play a big role in Yilmaz’s career. Definitely, he is a player with a lot of potential, and Beale can make him even better.

In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
