Kenny Miller blown away by ‘outstanding’ James Tavernier moment in Rangers 3-0 v Livingston

Kenny Miller was blown away by James Tavernier’s free-kick for Rangers in the Light Blues’ 3-0 win over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

It was a routine afternoon’s work for Michael Beale’s men with two goals from the skipper and one from Kemar Roofe continuing the Gers’ good recent form.

Miller was particularly impressed with Tavernier’s second goal in the 78th minute which sealed the three points for Michael Beale’s side.

“There were some fantastic goals and the second goal was an outstanding free kick from James Tavernier once Oméonga had been sent off,” said Miller (BBC Scottish Football Podcast, 25m 38s).

Pressure on

All Rangers can do is keep picking up points and hope Ange Postecoglou’s winning machine make a mistake at some point. Next weekend’s cup final is shaping up to be a cracking encounter with both teams on exceptional runs at present.

Beale has yet to taste defeat as Rangers manager and will be heading to Hampden Park hopeful that his side can replicate their previous performance against their fierce rivals. In the clash at Ibrox, the Light Blues were more than deserving of the point they earnt themselves and were perhaps unlucky not to have won the game.

It could well be a huge moment in the context of the whole campaign. If the Light Blues can get one over on Celtic, there’s a chance it could have an impact in the Scottish Premiership title race as well.

Despite the relatively easy run of fixtures, the performance levels have dramatically improved since Beale’s arrival, and Rangers also have a couple of new signings to call upon next weekend.

In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
