Tam McManus predicts scoreline of Rangers clash v Livingston

Tam McManus says that he will be interested to see how Michael Beale picks his Rangers team for the game against Livingston as the Bears have a massive cup game coming up next week against Celtic.

The Bears will play Livi away from home on Saturday (18 February), and McManus has predicted a 3-1 win for Beale’s side while speaking to PLZ Soccer.

McManus says that Beale is unlikely to risk big players if they’re carrying knocks, and Conor Goldson, who is “huge” for the club, could be dropped if he is carrying an injury.

Rangers

“I’m going 3-1, Rangers. I’d be interested to see the Rangers team,” said McManus on PLZ Soccer [26:20 onwards].

“If anybody carrying a knock or niggle, I don’t think he’ll risk it.

“Connor Goldson, for example, I think he is huge for Rangers. If he’s carrying a niggle, he [Beale] will rest him.”

Get three points

McManus is absolutely spot on here. Rangers will look to win every single game, and they have to maintain the momentum.

Ahead of the big game against Celtic, the players will want to go to Hampden Park with a positive frame of mind. A win against Livingston will keep them in good spirits ahead of the cup final.

At the same time, the manager could be tempted to drop a few players for this game in case they pick up a serious injury and miss the big game next week.

Rangers

Having said that, Rangers do have a big squad and they are more than capable of beating Livingston even if they miss a few first-team players.

With the kind of form they are in, they should be able to win it easily. They have enough depth in their attacking areas, and they should be able to outscore their opponent. Anything less than three points on Saturday would be a blow to the club.
