Rangers transfer news as clubs would line up to sign Steven Davis this summer
Plenty of Scottish Premiership clubs would be lining up to take Steven Davis away from Rangers this summer, according to Football Scotland.
The Northern Irishman’s Ibrox contract is coming to an end and with the maestro likely out for the season with an ACL injury his time in Glasgow could be up.
The report reiterates how Davis has expressed his desire to play for the Light Blues once again, a factor which may see him stay if the club wishes to keep him.

“Davis has insisted he is determined to play again for Rangers but there are still fears he has seen his last action for the club,” as quoted by Football Scotland. (16 February)
“Probably out for the season and with his contract running out, the 37-year-old may have to accept that even if he remains bullish for now.
“Plenty of Premiership clubs would be keen to take him as they were last summer.”

Tough call.
Davis is obviously a fantastic talent and maybe more importantly the perfect professional to have in the Rangers dressing room for Michael Beale.
And it’s this very trait that may see the club extend his contract, even if it is for a short time only, as it could prove to be a great deal for all involved.
Nevertheless, it’s a tough old call and the road back for the 38-year-old midfielder and with Beale looking to reinvest in younger, fresher talents, it’s by no means concrete that Rangers would renew his deal.
Years and service to Rangers make many argue that Davis deserves another chance to prove himself at Rangers especially after his torrid campaign this year.
Whilst a new Ianis Hagi-type deal is perhaps unlikely, Davis could still play some part in helping Beale with his likely younger squad next season.
This story will likely roll on into the summer months and will largely depend on how much Davis has recovered from his frustrating injury.
In other Rangers news, the Ibrox bank is set for a cash boost after a document emerged on Wednesday.
