Rangers player Malik Tillman leaves door open to Ibrox exit in recent interview

Rangers attacker Malik Tillman has left the door open to an Ibrox exit and perhaps even returning to Bayern Munich in his recent interview.

Speaking to German publication Kicker, the 20-year-old highlighted the importance of playing regularly regardless of where that might be.

He has been a first-team regular for Gers this season as he moved from the Bundesliga outfit on loan.

Transcribing his comments on Twitter, ESPN’s Derek Rae wrote, “I just want to play as much as possible. To me it’s relatively unimportant where that is. I feel comfortable here, in fact very comfortable. I bring my performances which I think Rangers are really happy with. But I could also image the same with the people at Bayern.

“So we’ll see.”

Exit likely?

Bayern’s squad is stacked with elite players and it’s going to be difficult for Tillman to find his way into the playing eleven there.

Sure, the dream would be to play for one of Europe’s top clubs and win the league and challenge for the Champions League every season.

However, playing time is a priority for him and that’s clearly coming across in this interview so he’s best suited to be at Rangers.

We do not see any reason why the club will not try to re-sign him next season either on loan or even permanently.

Bayern may be aware of his talents and could add a buy-back clause in the deal as they part ways with the American attacker in the summer.

Tillman does seem contented at Ibrox and if there is progress under Michael Beale and the right signings are made in the summer, there’s no reason why he would not want to extend.

In other Rangers news, the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from the Premier League after a £10m Auchenhowie milestone was reached.
