Rangers must do all they can to keep Glen Kamara as worrying update over Ibrox future emerges
Rangers must do all they can to secure Glen Kamara’s future at Ibrox after reports emerged claiming he could be on the move away this summer.
The 26-year-old has struggled for consistent game-time ever since Michael Beale’s arrival at the club in November, starting seven of ten games under him in the Scottish Premiership and being an unused substitute in one of them.
Beale also claimed that the Finnish international could be fighting for a starting place with new January signing Nicolas Raskin, with his minutes in danger of being reduced even further going forward.

According to reports in Football Insider [14 February], there are ‘question marks’ over the midfielder’s long-term future at the club and there is every likelihood that he will depart the Light Blues during the summer transfer window.
The midfielder was reportedly the subject of interest last summer with French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice reportedly eyeing him up in a £10m deal [Scottish Daily Express, 1 September], but nothing materialised.
And unless the Gers receive an amount for the midfielder they deem too tempting not to turn down, it is mightily imperative that they do all they can to convince the player that his future remains at Ibrox beyond this summer.
Throughout his four and a half years in Scotland, Kamara has consistently showcased his professionalism, leadership and maturity in midfield, with his quality at the heart of the team constantly going unnoticed. At 27 years of age, he still has so much to offer this Gers team.
The Finland international also put in an “unplayable 9/10” performance against Hearts at the start of the month [1 February] where he proved to Beale that he still remains one of the most influential figures in the team despite the signing and emergence of Raskin.
With Beale impressively building a young and exciting crop of players at the Ibrox for the future, Kamara’s experience, know-how, leadership and yet his unique gifts from midfield could still provide the club with the tonic they need to fully go on and challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic next season.
He’s got Scottish Premiership title-winning experience too which the Gers cannot afford to lose in the long run.
