Rangers duo Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi can have no complaints after Partick Thistle clash
Rangers duo Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi can have no complaints after being kept inside at half-time as boos rang around Ibrox against Patrick Thistle, according to Daily Record journalist Andy Newport (pg 43, 13 February).
Cantwell and Hagi were taken off at half-time in the Scottish Cup clash where Rangers ran out 3-2 winners after an eventful game.
Newport confessed that it was “nightmare” stuff for Michael Beale who knew he had to act by throwing on Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe in the second half.

“It was a nightmare stuff for Beale though and he knew he had to act as his side were booed down the tunnel,” as quoted by Daily Record (pg 43, 13 February).
“Cantwell and Hagi could have no complaints as they were kept inside at the break as the Londonder threw on Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe.”

Cup scare survived.
Rangers just about survived a cup scare against Thistle in what would have been a calamitous Sunday afternoon for Beale and his Gers outfit.
The Englishman however, showed his managerial nouse by bringing off Cantwell and Hagi at half-time who were simply outplayed in the fixture.
Nicolas Raskin was a standout for the Light Blues after being handed his first start by Beale since making the January switch to Ibrox.
Antonio Colak’s return to action and goals was also nice to witness and it will be interesting to see how Beale utilises the Croat in the coming weeks and months.
Roofe’s return from injury too should also help the Gers in their run-in for the Scottish Premiership and his experience will be needed to challenge Celtic.
All in all, it was a scrappy match that Rangers will want to forget and move on from, nevertheless, at least Beale and co got the win they needed.
In other Rangers news, the Ibrox bank is set for a cash boost after a document emerged on Wednesday.
