Rangers: Alan Brazil goes ballistic at Allan McGregor after clash v Patrick Thistle
Alan Brazil was left bemused by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor’s reaction to Patrick Thistle star Scott Tiffoney being allowed to score at Ibrox.
McGregor attempted to tackle Tiffoney and block his shot after Michael Beale instructed his Rangers side to let Thistle score after Malik Tillman’s controversial goal.
Brazil confessed that the Thistle players were left “raging” by the incident and blasted McGregor for his failed attempts to stop an equaliser from taking place.
“They were raging. I watched it again last night and it divided opinion up there, but it was the right thing to do. Michael Beale was very positive with the decision and let them walk the ball into the net. But Allan McGregor,” said Brazil as quoted by the Daily Record. (13 February)
“What was he doing? The Thistle player had to try and beat the keeper a few times, he thought he was Jimmy Johnstone. Just let him put it in the net, will you?”

Class act.
Beale proved yet again on Sunday afternoon what a class act he is with the Englishman choosing sportsmanship over a controversial progression to the Scottish Cup final.
Some fans argue that it was the wrong decision for Beale to take but with the Gers progressing through to the next stage of the competition, hopefully, their opinions have slightly changed.
If anything, Beale should be commended for the brave call, especially with the heat and rage that was forming over every Thistle player’s head.
That’s what a real leader does and it shows the type of character that Rangers currently have at the helm, someone who can surely guide the club to better days.
Protecting Tillman from an inevitable barrage of hate online and beyond the fixture has also been avoided by Beale’s in-the-moment decision, something which many may look past.
A 20-year-old who is just having his first breakout season doesn’t need that kind of abuse aimed towards him and fortunately, this has been avoided.
