Rangers want to sign Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn, Ross Wilson knows him well
Rangers are in pursuit of Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn as they aim to sign a new number one in the summer, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
Writing via his Patreon page on Sunday (12 February), Nixon reported that Ross Wilson knows Gunn, 27, well from his time at Southampton and has eyed up the Norwich shot-stopper as a new long-term option in between the sticks at Ibrox.
Gunn was axed by new Norwich manager David Wagner when he was hired last month and it is understood “there is no way the Canaries can keep him as a reserve”.

With Allan McGregor expected to leave Ibrox in the summer, Gunn has been earmarked as a potential replacement.
Good replacement?
Gunn was a very promising young goalkeeper when he was rising through the ranks in England.
However, his career has hit a bit of a brick wall in recent years.
The former England Under-21 international, who was even called up to the senior squad in 2017 but didn’t play a game, has struggled to consistently be Norwich’s number one in the English Championship this season, playing just 14 league games in total.

He’s only kept two clean sheets too while the Canaries’ promotion bid is falling apart at a vital stage of the season.
Gunn is known for not hitting his potential in England and he’s also known for being the goalkeeper who played in Southampton’s 9-0 home defeat to Leicester back in October 2019.
He’s not better than McGregor but the chances are that Rangers won’t be able to find someone better than the Ibrox veteran, who’s bound to call it a day when this season ends.
But Gunn has a fair bit of experience south of the border and would more than likely be keen on a move to the Scottish Premiership as he’s also eligible to play for the Scottish national team, as his father Bryan Gunn did in the early 1990s.
In other Rangers news, there are “serious doubts” over the fitness of one striker for the Viaplay Cup final against Celtic.
