Kenny Miller reacts to Malik Tillman VAR incident in Rangers Scottish Cup tie v Partick Thistle
Kenny Miller believes Malik Tillman was lucky not to give away a penalty in the first half of Rangers’ Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle.
The American tangled with Kevin Holt in the early part of the match at Ibrox, however referee David Munro and the VAR officials deemed the incident unworthy of a spot kick.
However, the former Light Blues striker felt the Partick left-back had a strong case for a penalty being awarded.

“Tillman just wrestled Holt to the ground there. He’s got a case there. They’ve had a quick look and felt that there was nothing to give,” said Miller (BBC Sportsound 16:04, 12 February).
Get the job done
It’s absolutely vital for the Gers to get the job done in an effective manner. They will be expected to get to the final of the Scottish Cup and challenge Celtic for yet another domestic trophy. A treble is still on the cards – although a double is more likely.
The Ibrox faithful will be delighted to see Nicolas Raskin make his debut for the Gers, as Michael Beale eases the Belgium under-21 international into the first-team equation. Every match is crucial to keep momentum and maintain players’ fitness and it’s good to see Beale rotate his squad once again.

Ianis Hagi starting is another big plus for the Light Blues’ boss. The Romanian has been edging closer to a full return and the Scottish Cup tie looks like an ideal environment for the 24-year-old to make his first start since his injury. Beale will be hoping for a routine afternoon’s work and safe passage into the next round.
In other Rangers news, there are “serious doubts” over the fitness of one striker for the Viaplay Cup final against Celtic.
