Rangers must tie down Robbie Ure to new Ibrox contract, could be Michael Beale’s next rising star
Rangers must quickly tie down academy rising star Robbie Ure to a new contract at the Ibrox as he could turn out to be a leading striker for Michael Beale in the future.
Football Scotland reported at the end of last year [8 December] that Ure, 18, will be out of contract at the end of this season and the Light Blues want to offer him fresh terms to “lock down their starlet”.
It is understood that Ure is considered a “rising talent” amongst the youth ranks at Ibrox with the Glasgow-born forward playing twice for the first team under Giovanni van Brobckhorst before he was sacked in November.

However, a couple months on from that report, and there’s been no movement on a new deal for the 18-year-old wonderkid, and considering his amazing potential and performances this season, it is a decision the Gers could come to regret in the future.
Latest developments [Football Insider, 8 February] have claimed that Ure wants to quit the Scottish giants after they offered him a new contract, but for less money. He rejected their first contract offer in January and now has his sights set on a move in the summer.
The report also claims that various clubs did not want to match the Gers’ asking price last month, so the youngster could instead leave on a free transfer come the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
And that could well prove to be a big mistake.
Considering Michael Beale’s penchant for acquiring and nurturing young talent as he’s done throughout his career both at the Liverpool academy, helping the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solake, the Gers should make securing Ure’s future a top priority in the coming weeks.
Beale is certainly forming an exciting unit at the Ibrox, building an exciting young side following the signings of Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell last month, and considering Alfredo Morelos’ uncertain contract situation, the club would be smart to entrust and place their confidence in an up and coming young star.

Ure has been in sensational form this season for the Rangers B team, scoring 14 goals and registering six assists in the Lowland League, which will surely have caught Beale’s eye in terms of gaining some minutes towards the end of the campaign.
The youngster has also shown his quality at international level scoring twice in five matches for Scotland’s under-19s.
Ure has already excited fans with his small number of appearances in the Gers’ senior side playing twice this term against St Mirren and Queen of the South, scoring against the latter in the Scottish League Cup back in August.
Rangers is a club built on the success of their academy, and it is incredibly vital they continue and enforce that recruitment model as Beale’s exciting era continues.
Tie Ure down to that new deal.
In other Rangers news, the Ibrox bank is set for a cash boost after a document emerged on Wednesday.
