Rangers can finally replace long-gone defender with Anderlecht ace Noah Sadiki

Rangers were eyeing up a move for Anderlecht right-back Noah Sadiki in the January transfer window, according to Juenes Footeux. (16 January)

The 18-year-old could be the man to finally replace Nathan Patterson at Rangers after the right-back sealed a £16m move to Everton last January.

Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig listed Sadiki’s name as part of a list of players emerging from the “highly talented” academy at Anderlecht.

“Julien is a part of the new wave of highly talented Anderlecht academy players such as Yari Verschaeren, Anouar Ait El Hadj, Mario Stroeykens, Killian Sardella, Zeno Debast, Marco Kana, Noah Sadiki, Enock Agyei, Lucas Stassin, Amadou Diallo, Luca Monticelli, and Nils De Wilde,” wrote Kulig to his loyal 200k+ followers on Twitter.

So with Rangers certainly rumoured to be interested in the talented youngster in January, making a move in the summer could be on and the club could finally fill the void Patterson left.

Trouble brewing.

Adding fuel to the fire of a potential move for Sadiki from the Gers, the youngster has fallen massively out of favour at Anderlecht in recent months.

The right-back has only been handed one start since mid-September for the Belgian giants and this may open the door for Rangers to make a move.

Sadiki fits the profile for the kind of talent Michael Beale wants in his squad and is someone who could definitely be moulded into a far greater prospect under the Englishman.

As well as replacing the long-gone Patterson, Sadiki could be the long-term successor to James Tavernier who is on the wrong side of 30.

Some fans will argue that Adam Devine already holds the position of Tavernier’s successor but bringing in Sadiki would up the competition for places even further.

For the team to progress in Beale’s vision there need to be battles between numerous talents in the squad and it’s this very competitive nature that allows the team to progress.

The talent factory from Anderlecht rarely disappoints, if Sadiki is available in the summer, then the Light Blues should be making a shrewd move for him.
