Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos drops cryptic message as transfer news emerges

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has dropped a cryptic message on Instagram amid reported exit links this week.

The Colombian striker will be a free agent next summer and he is yet to sign a new deal at Ibrox. There was interest from Turkish outfit Konyaspor this week, but the 26-year-old knocked back the approach [The Daily Record].

The Light Blues have not given up hope of retaining him. He has been in impressive form since Michael Beale returned to the club last year, and now he has dropped a cryptic message, possibly hinting at his future.

It gives the impression that he is asking the fans to stay calm and that a resolution will be reached at the right time.

His post translates literally as: “Don’t desperate. God is not fast or slow, is perfect.”

New deal?

There are still fears that Morelos could leave the club at the end of the season. He dropped down the pecking order behind Antonio Colak under Giovanni van Bronckhorst who mainly used him as his second-choice striker.

However, he is now enjoying his football again under Beale. In the absence of Colak and Kemar Roofe, Morelos is getting regular games now, and his form has improved.

The Colombian striker has been at Ibrox for six years now. He has been a divisive figure among the fans, due to his volatile nature and aggression on the pitch. But one thing that can’t be denied is that he is a lethal scorer.

He has scored over 100 goals for the club already and smashed Ally McCoist’s European goal record as well. Nevertheless, his attitude has come under question from time to time.

While there has been interest in him from one or two Turkish clubs, it is unlikely that Rangers will sell Morelos now. The striker could be considering extending his stay at the club and his latest Instagram post points in that direction only.

In other Rangers news, the Ibrox bank is set for a cash boost after a document emerged on Wednesday.
