Alfredo Morelos knocks back 'big offer' to quit Rangers as contract verdict shared - pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alfredo Morelos is winding down his contract at Rangers but it remains unclear what he wants to do next after a “big offer” from Konyaspor was turned down, according to Tam McManus.
Morelos, 26, has revived his form under Michael Beale, scoring six Scottish Premiership goals in 10 games since the Englishman was hired to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
However, Morelos’ contract remains set to expire at the end of the season and speculation this week has since linked the Colombia international with a “big-money” move to Turkish side Konyaspor [Scottish Sun].
The transfer window in Turkey closed on 7 February and ahead of the deadline, Konyaspor were reportedly told that they would be wasting their time by making a move for Morelos, who “hasn’t ruled out signing a new long-term contract at Ibrox”.
McManus, however, doesn’t see that happening and he does see Morelos becoming a free agent in the summer and trying to find a new challenge elsewhere.

“It’s clear to me that he’s just going to run his contract down,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“It was in the paper this week that a big offer had come in from a Turkish side Konyaspor but Morelos has knocked them back.
“Whether he and his agent have got something lined up for the summer on a free that they’re keeping quiet about or he’s just waiting for his chances as a free agent, I don’t know.
“But his future is outside of Rangers. That’s very clear to me.
“I’ll be surprised if a deal for a new contract is done this late. I think he’ll take his chances as a free agent.”
