Rangers transfer news as Chris Jack shares Malik Tillman verdict

Rangers signing Malik Tillman on a permanent transfer this summer should be an absolute “no-brainer”, according to The Herald journalist Chris Jack.

Tillman has looked rejuvenated since the arrival of Michael Beale at Ibrox and continues to impress the Ibrox faithful more as the weeks fly by.

Jack confessed that the debate has shifted as to whether Rangers can afford not to sign the classy American that they have first refusal on from Bayern Munich.

“The debate has shifted, and at present it centres on whether Rangers can afford not to complete a deal that they have first refusal on. The fee – believed to be around the £5million mark – looks more of a shrewd investment, a bargain even, with every week that passes,” as quoted by The Herald. (6 February)

“The situation falls into the ‘no-brainer’ category now. If Rangers don’t activate their clause and complete a move for Tillman, someone else will and their chance will be gone.”

Recognition.

There are still parts of the Gers fanbase who aren’t fully convinced about Tillman but this is slowly but surely becoming the voices of a few rather than the many.

Beale trusted Tillman to come on and replace the injured John Lundstram in the win over Ross County, something which fully crowned his move to the number eight role.

His intensity in games is growing and the blase attitude he displayed when he first joined the club has become an all but distant memory.

Tillman has that star quality that so many in the professional game crave to possess, he makes hard things look easy and can be Rangers’ go-to man in the coming years.

He’s already proving to be just that right here and now but at 20 years old there is a feeling around Ibrox that there is still so much more to come.

A no-brainer of a signing like Jack suggests? Definitely, but whether or not Bayern Munich will look to seize Tillman back under their control remains to be seen.

The decision of where the American goes will likely come down to Tillman himself, but the maestro seems quietly happy with life at Rangers right now and hopefully, this can continue past the current campaign.
