Rangers face fresh injury scare as John Lundstram pictured in moon boot

Rangers face a fresh injury scare as midfielder John Lundstram has been pictured wearing a moon boot as he left Ibrox following the 2-1 win over Ross County.

The maestro was forced off early in the first half and it was revealed on Saturday evening (4 February) that Lundstram had rolled his ankle trying to block a shot.

The Glasgow Evening Times relayed an image of Lundstam wearing the protective boot, something which suggests his injury is worse than first feared and report that Rangers will provide an update this week after a scan.

Bolstered engine room.

Fortunately, Rangers aren’t short of options in the middle of the park and Malik Tillman’s emergence in the number eight role could be the way forward for the club from now on.

Especially after his performance against Ross County, where Tillman came on for the injured Lundstram and impressed thoroughly, bagging himself a goal.

The January signings of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin have also added depth to Beale’s engine room, something which was needed after recent injury scares.

Cantwell has impressed since his arrival at Ibrox, whilst fans are still waiting to see what Raskin can offer with the player only arriving on deadline day.

Still, Lundstram has been a constant in Beale’s midfield since the Englishman took over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst so his injury is still a setback.

Hopefully, the 28-year-old will be back in action sooner rather than later, the more options Beale has in the run in the better for Rangers.
