Kris Commons thrilled by three Rangers players transformed under Michael Beale

Kris Commons says Rangers have become a “different animal” under Michael Beale after he has made an unbeaten start to his managerial career at Ibrox.

Not only have the results improved, but also the style of football has been eye-catching. Commons, writing for the Scottish Daily Mail, is particularly impressed with the transformation of some of the players.

The likes of Alfredo Morelos, Glen Kamara, and Ryan Kent have been superb under Beale, and he feels the credit must go to the manager for getting the best out of them.

“Beale has taken the shackles off this team. You only have to look at the way Alfredo Morelos and Glen Kamara are now back in the picture and playing well again,” wrote Common for the Scottish Daily Mail (Verdict, page 16, 6 February).

“Kamara was almost out the door at one point under Van Bronckhorst. For whatever reason, the previous manager just didn’t seem to rate him at all.

“Morelos, meanwhile, is slowly but surely looking like a good striker again. He scored twice in Georgie and looked sharp. Ryan Kent is another who seems to be rediscovering some form.”

True

When Beale first arrived at the club, his first task was to arrest the gradual decline. The club was heading in the wrong direction under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The results were poor, and the football being played was unimaginative, dull, and boring. There was no identity at the club, and it was necessary to rebuild from the start.

Beale did exactly that. For the first few games, he simply focused on getting wins. With more wins, the confidence at the club grew, and the players started to play more freely.

It became then easy for Beale to bring his own style and get the best out of players he knows that can deliver for him. He has previously worked with some of these players and knows very well what they are capable of.

Morelos and Kent are two major assets for the club. They have scored goals for the club and won matches, and it cannot happen that turn into bad players overnight. Beale injected confidence in the side, and these players are looking like getting back to their old best.

In other Rangers news, one player who is better than the Hearts squad was dubbed “different class” on BBC Sportsound as he wowed against Ross County.
