Neil McCann raves about 'underestimated' Rangers forward Malik Tillman after win v Ross County
Neil McCann thinks that Rangers forward Malik Tillman is very “underestimated” in the air after he scored for the Gers in their 2-1 win against Ross County on Saturday at Ibrox (4 February).
The 20-year-old, who joined from Bayern Munich on loan, broke the deadlock with a fantastic header in the first half. Jordan White equalised in the second half, but Borna Barisic scored for the home side to earn all three points.
The attacking midfielder has now scored seven goals and provided four assists in the Scottish Premiership this season for the Bears, and he is proving to be a great signing made by the club.
In the first half, Tillman saw a header miss the target but that still led to praise from McCann for his positioning and aerial ability.
“[Borna] Barisic we know can cross brilliantly. Tillman is very very underestimated in the air,” said McCann on BBC Sportscene (45:57, 4 February).
“All these clips are times when Tillman, Cantwell, guys that had to get inside on and face the game, are not getting forced with their backs to play.”

Tillman is a fantastic young talent and he is showing his class under Beale.
He gave the impression of a cracking prospect when he first arrived and did impress at times under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
However, it is Beale who is getting the best out of him. The youngster is being given more license to get into the box, and he is now getting goals.
Tillman scored in the 3-0 win against Hearts and scored again against Ross County.
Rangers have made a great start under Beale who is yet to face defeat in the Scottish Premiership since taking charge of the club.
Beale confirmed on 2 February [Herald Scotland] that Rangers have a deal in place to sign Tillman permanently and he hopes that it will be sorted out after the end of the season.
With his best years ahead of him, Tillman can grow into a top-class player if he keeps on improving.
Is he underestimated? Probably, yes, because of his age mainly. But there’s no doubt that he is a fabulous talent.
In other Rangers news, another Light Blues player was slammed on BBC Sportsound for his sloppy error in the game.
