BBC Sportsound pundit blasts Rangers midfielder John Lundstram for what he did against Ross County
Derek Ferguson slammed Rangers midfielder John Lundstram for his “extremely slack” play early in the win over Ross County.
The Englishman had a torrid afternoon which saw him make an aimless pass across the midfield that was easily intercepted by Yan Dhanda, and saw George Harmon break forward to set up Eamonn Brophy for an early attempt in the third minute.
It was virtually Lundstram’s only contribution to the laboured 2-1 victory as he then pulled up injured minutes later and was replaced by Malik Tillman inside the the first 10, but Ferguson was not impressed.

Speaking live on BBC Sportsound on Saturday (4 February, 3.04pm) he said “It was extremely slack there from Lundstram, just playing it inside and it was cut out.
“The good thing from a County point of view [was] the amount of bodies they got forward. They were flooding forward from the middle of the park.
“Rangers players getting back do well to block it.”
Day to forget
The swashbuckling Gers outfit that brushed Hearts aside in midweek had vanished at Ibrox on Saturday, with a return of the tentative team that struggles to break down opponents.
It was ultimately another three points under Michael Beale, but it took a massive deflection on a second-half Borna Barisic free kick to get the win.
Jon McLaughlin’s performance in goal left much to be desired, as he displayed a lack of confidence under aerial balls throughout and got nowhere near Jordan White’s equaliser.

Lundstram had a miserable day because he started with a major error that could have put his side under pressure for the rest of the game, and then never got the opportunity to rectify matters with his injury.
He will have to hope he isn’t out for any length of time, with new signing Nicolas Raskin now in the fold and brought on for a late cameo.
It was actually Lundstram’s direct replacement that stood out however, as Malik Tillman opened the scoring and generally provided the kind of play that the rest of the team needed more of on a day where the result should have been far more comfortable.
In other Rangers news, one rarely-seen Light Blues player is now headed for a permanent exit from the club after events during the transfer window.
