Michael Beale shares ‘vibe’ around Rangers contract renewals with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent

Michael Beale has admitted there is a positive vibe at Rangers around the potential contract renewals for Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

Both star players are out of contract at the end of the season and are free to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer as they are in the final six months of their deal.

However after both players saw a huge turn in their fortunes since the arrival of Michael Beale at Ibrox, the manager has now admitted that there are good signs the duo could put pen to paper on a new contract with Rangers.

Rangers

“I think we can play without both, but I love them both,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record (2 February).

“At this moment in time, if you’re asking would I prefer Rangers with both boys here, of course I would.

“Do I feel there’s a future at Rangers without them? Yeah, I do.

“But 100 percent there’s a vibe that they’re not shutting the door on staying. From both of them.”

Positive

It’s incredible how much two months can change things at a football club, and what Beale has done at Ibrox deserves all the credit.

Morelos has managed four goals and three assists in his last three games, but the overall state of his performances since Beale took over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been excellent.

Add to that the fact that he has found a new role for Kent that makes him far more involved in the side and play, and now both players look far happier than they have done in a long time.

A new contract would not only be huge for the players, as they’d be signing on for the prime years of their career, but also for Beale as it would show that he is building something big at the club for the future and not just for the short-term.

It won’t be easy to do because clubs are sure to rear their head and try to tempt them away, but if the boss says that the vibe is positive then that’s enough for us.
