Michael Beale shares Rangers fitness update on Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe

Michael Beale has revealed Kemar Roofe is “back outside” after suffering a shoulder injury in Rangers’ Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen.

Ianis Hagi is also back training ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash against Ross County. The Romanian made his long awaited return in the weekend win over St Johnstone but was not in the squad for the Gers’ 3-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday (1 February).

However, Beale has revealed the 24-year-old is now back in training after being given time off after his return to the side.

“Ianis [Hagi] will be back training today, we gave him a couple days to rest after his return,” said the Rangers boss (Rangers’ Twitter account, 2 February).

“Roofe is back outside now which is a really good sign. Souttar is in individual training, we don’t want to rush anyone back into the squad.”

Boost

Everything seems to be going right for the Light Blues’ boss at the moment. The club enjoyed an impressive end to the transfer window, players are returning from injury and the side are performing well. When Hagi and Roofe do return Beale will have a plethora of options available to him.

The performance at Tynecastle was the most complete under Beale to date. Hearts have been in good form but they couldn’t live with the Light Blues in an attacking sense. Ryan Kent produced another fantastic display and Glen Kamara was imperious in the centre of midfield.

Rangers

The Finland international was sensational from start to finish and has really laid down a marker after Nicolas Raskin’s arrival at Ibrox. The Belgium under-21 international will provide competition, but after John Lundstram and Kamara’s performances, there’s no guarantee he will come straight into the starting eleven.

There’s certainly a new found positivity around Ibrox.
